MALAYSIA:Patriot Games

HI here is the second post of the 50 years of independence series.Patriot games....

What is it to be a patriot? Our dear prime minister said a true patriot should love all Malaysians.Yet it his also his own government that prosecute those that speak the truth.You know I often accused of not being a patriot.Some say i am desecrating my country.Some say the ISA will be on my door.Most of my friends seem to have or used to have the misconception that that mike guy will be the first of us to be out of this country.True from what i hear from them neither of you guys are very patriotic a girl told she dint give a fuck about this country and another friend told me that he is going the Australia the second he is old enough.

Well despite what my post might mislead you guys i am as a patriotic as the minister or any other person.This is my country and i am not going to leave it.

Those are the lines of the national anthem and though as much as i strongly disagree with the goverment on the NEP and stuff but i love Malaysia and everyone single race equally.Its just the people i dont like.And so it just happens that the people that make those idiotic rules are malay.But how can our ministers call for unity when their actions call for disunity?People might say don't question the government don't question authority.But if no does that we would not Malaysia for it was our fore fathers that questioned and fought the government.Without it there would be no Malaysia.

But the question is what is Malaysia and to whom does it belong to?Malaysia of course belongs to malaysians but what is a Malaysian?Apparently now if your not Malay and not Muslim your not Malaysian.The government seems to imply if you do oppose them then you are not Malaysian but are they truly Malaysian themselves.For a Mp once said it is on the grace of the Malays that the chinese and indians are allowed to menumpang on their land.They also seem to think however they brought up this country and those that dont like it can get out.Yeah and what about the chinese buisnessman and the indian labourers?Chopped liver?
Without us there is no economy.Because of that every race should be given equal rights not some to put them selves above others.

Meanwhile the government still tries to deceive us that everything is still fine and dandy.Badawi wants us to think everyone is equal yet NEP say we arent.The MCA and i am full of regret to say such things of my fellow race are not much more than deluded people working againts their own race.Sure they are giving us a voice but what have they done but help some chinese people.Have they really ever challenged the NEP or ketuanan melayu?I am a oposition man although i am not old enough to vote but my heart is with DAP.MCA is not bad but i think they are just not doing enough but become the UMNO's crony's

But alas this rant is near its end for i have gotten lazy and my fingers cramped.More on unity and NEP later but know here is your question.What is Malaysia and what is a Malaysian.Who has claim?The Malays?The Chinese?The indians?The Asli's?None have claim for all have claim over the land.Can the malays say they have shed more blood on this hallowed patato shaped piece of ground than we do?Can we claim that we fought harder for this land than they did.Brothers why do we fight?
